I PHOEBUS FIREMAN SELECT RICHMOND DELEGATES They Will Represent the Department at the Coming State Convention in August. The Phoebus Fire Department met Inst night and elected delegates to the State Convention, In Richmond The laddies determined to send about 75 members of the department to the convention and It wna decided to take the Pore Monroe band ol twenty-six pieces with the company IMr. Charles 10. Welsh was chosen the State vice-president, and the del? egates to represent the Phoebus de? partment in all the proceedings ol the convention nro, Messrs. Thomas Tholl, chairman, August Kraft, Dixie Ruth. .1. C. Farrell, M. F. Cooper, C C. Cunningham and William Craw ford. The Phoebus laddies will enter the contest for the largest and best looking visiting company attending the State convention. For three years Phoebus has won this prize, which is considered the biggest hon or conferred by the Virginia State Firemen's Association. The Phoebus business men have contributed handsomely for the fund to carry the firemen to Richmond and the trip to the capital city promises to prove most enjoyable to the fire? men from the hustling little town oi the lower peninsula. Governor Claude A. Swanson is warm friend of the Phoebus firemen and when he came up for election in the recent primary he received al most the solid vote of the town.
