RICHMOND. VA., duly fi?A special
from Franklin county tonight says
that the murder on yesterday of Mar?
shall King by Edward Saul was caus?
ed by jealousy over the affections of
Miss Bessie Ramsey, of that county,
wiili whom both men were in love.
Saul passed the Ramsey home
while hunting and saw King in Hie
patlor with Miss Ramsey, lie con?
cealed his gun and approached the
house and asked King to come out
as he wanted to have a talk with him.
King was overheard begging Saul not
to shoot him. King fell at the flrsi
shot with a bullet in his heart.
Saul threw the gun from him, cry?
ing out "Good bye, folks, I am gone"
and lied, lie was seen going in the
direction ol MartInsvllle. The young
men were of one age and had been
raised together. King was quiet and
Industrious. Saul was known as a
rowdy character.
