much anxiety in his own country,

demanded $75,000 from the Spanish
government for the murder of Dr. Ruiz.
There are several other parties in our
little country that could be sold for less ‘
than that and still leave the country the

How WardjMining Pays.
The Celestial Extension (better known
as the Wirth) mine hasagain demone
strated Its willingness to reward honest
labor from its storeroom of mineral
wealth. This week the quartet of leas
ers, compose of Frank I.emmex, Harry
Tanton, George Mack and Lew Nichols,
shipped 164 tons of ore to the Kiiton
works, ana on Wednesday received the
returns, a check for $1790.23. The ore
ran § g 2 ounces in gold and 1.20 in silver,
and the shipment represented the work
of 30 days only for each of the leasers.
After deducting the royalty, freighting
and smelting charges, each man reccived
for his 30 day's labor the nct sum of
$241.55, a littie over $8 per day. The
ore was taken from the 230 east level
and the leasers are getting out another
good sized shipment of the same kind of
stuff. Their lease expires in about three
