in Honolulu, happened to havo

occurred. Ho says tho namo is
misspelled in tho published account.
Tho man's namo was
Magoo, not Mngo. Ho did not
taiio tho raonoy indemnity, preferring
to accept tho privilego of
exporting hides freo of export
duty.
By this privilogo he amassed
wealth in short ordor.
It wus true that tho president
wont into partnership with him.
Mr. Kilburn was British consul
in tho Guatemalan capital. Ho
says tho presidont was a man of
general gd qualities, but was
under tho iniluenco of liquor when
ho ordored the brutal flogging of
Magoo.
