Parties interested in onr new railroad at Nashville are very confident that the $40,000 required from Nasliville will be subscribed bv or soon after the first of September, and we have every reason to expect that work will be begun next month. Nothing remains to be done lie fore active ojieratfons can begin except the Nasliville subscription, Huntsville having raised hers and procured the j light of way. Several members of our I local committee expect to goto Nash ! ville soon and aid in the work of solicit ! ing subscriptions there. Nothing that j would happen would so stimulate trade, j increase business, restore confidence in [Huntsville future and give Madison county a big boom in all industrial lines i as the building of this railroad. It is in | truth the anchor of our hope and salva tion. The Carlisle road is intended to go from G..ntersville to Decatur, and notli ing will secure its coming tins way ami giving Huntsville an outlet South except the building of the road from here to Elora, Hence its great importance, and the absolute necessity of its early con struction. The anxiety and deep inter est of our people is commendable, but they w ill have to exercise patience and have faith.— Huutsville Mercury. NOTICK The Board of Directors of the Huntsville Gazette.
