A special to the Nashville of yesterday says : “A. number of gentlemen met here to day and organized the Floreaice hand, Mining & Manufacturing Company, which promises to rival in magnitude any yet organized. They have bought the available vacant lots and land in and immediately adjoining Florence to the amount of about 4,000 acres, and about 2,IKK) acres of iron lands from fifteen to thirty miles of Florence, which is said to be one of the most valuable iron proper ties in the South. The stock had been subscribed and to-day being fixed for tiie meeting of the stockholders for or ganization, and this being known, the town was wild with excitement all day. Those interested in the matter ami the office w here the meeting was held were beseiged by parties wishing to take stock and a number of telegrams were receiv ed from persons at a distance to friends here, asking to get in, one party asking for |2o,imh> worth of the stock, but they were too late, and the applica tion was refused. The capital stock was fixed at three million dollars, four hun dred thousand being paid up, three hun dred thousandin cash, and one bandied thousands in lands, and the following board of directors elected: Win Duncan: W B Wood, John Wood ward, A W YVillis, Chas (4 Smith, LC Hudson, R Prichards. Lee Howell, .1 C Conner, W K Blair, R 11 Dudley and A W Stocked. The officers of the company are W B Wood, President; Maj.
