"They were all on the way to Hot Springs', Va,. where they ex--pected to remain' through the rest of the summer for the' benoflt of Mr. Walsh, who had not recovered from an attack of grip, which he suffered last January. Julius S. Walsh, brother of the dead man, was on the special train bearing e. A chance remark by a citizen In formed some of the party of the death of Qdward Walsh, and Julius S. Walsh left the train, returning to this" city with the body last night P. Chouteau Maffltt and other relatives arid friends of the dead man met the fam ily at the -train. Mrs. Walsh, who was al most overcome by the tragedy of the day, went with her son to their home. No. 4341 Westminster place, where the body of Mr. Wnlsh was later 'conveyed. Arrangements for the funeral we're not completed last night. DEATH CAME WTH LITTLE WARK1XG. Yesterday morning Mr. Walsh arose in unusually good spirits and prepared for his Journey. In company with his wife, he at tended mass. He walked to the church. Afterwards the family drove to Union Stat tlon. ' When Litchfield was reached Mr. Walsh began to complain of the heat, and despite every attention," grew very ill. "I seem to bo burning up,"" he frequently said. His pulse mounted to 107 and he fell over in a state of collapse. Ten minutes later Mattooh was reached and he was con veyed to the Ezssex Hotel. Doctor Charles B." Fry was summoned and pronounced him past all recall. Death had come a few min utes before the train arrived at Mattoon. When the World's Fair special arrived at Mattoon on the way to Buffalo, several of the St. Loulssins went to the station plat form to distribute World's Fair buttons to the crowd. Some of the party heard by ac cident that Edward Walsh was dead. C L. Hllleary went to Julius S. Walsh, who was sitting at a table in the' buffet car, and called him aside.
