Although Benny ranger is being praised by tho Chicago papers as the best 12-pound man in the ring, it is difficult to see where he can lay claim to such a distinction. JThe mere fact that Sam Harris has agreed to let Alcuovern ngnt i anger is suiucient proof that there are more dangerous men In the ring, as Harris would never let Mc Govctn light units' he thought Terry had ail the best of the chances. "anger undoubtedly is a tough and hard fighter and Is one of the top-notchers at bis weight; but to say tLat he is the best man in his division Is absurd. Kid Broad fairly beat hint in their meeting a few weeks ago and would have received tho decision in any other city than Chicago; and as Abe Attell clearly beat Broad when tne latter weighed far more than in the Vanger light il certainly appears as If At tell would easily best Yanger. In speaking of his match with Tanger, Broad stated that he had the Slasher clinch ing all through the last two rounds) end that Yanger had to hang on to keep from going out. Reports trcrn Chicago corroborate this, as also the fact that when Broad knocked Yanger down in the fourth round the latter wa3 so dizzy that only the gong saved him. Eddy Lenny made a good showing against Yanger a few nights ago and lasted the six rounds without trouble, although the style or ngntine tavorec 1 anger, xne latter nag been getting so much the best of the condi tion in all bouts in his home city, added to the fact that he al3o Insists up a Chi. cago referee, that he has no chance to lose, bar accident. It will be remembered that when a match was scheduled for this city between Yang er and Joe Bernstein, the former refused to tight Joe unless a Cnlcago referee was put in. When this point was refused. Ben ny deliberately threw up the match, al though the receipts would have been far larger than he could have earned by fight ing in Chicago. The deduction certainly Is obvious. . If McGovern'and Yanger meet. McGovern certainly seems to have the best of It, and it is difficult to see how Yar.ger would consent to fight a man who figures to have an even break with him. Both McGovern and Yanger bavo been handled on the principle that easy matches ore the first point of tho game, and It is hard to see how Yanger would consent to fight Terry.
