It developed at a special session of the St. Louis County Court In Clayton yester day that the application of the St. Louis County Gaa Company for a franchise is belnr- backed by the Lacledo Gas Com pany. Paul Cable, vice president of the com pany, said that arrangements had been made whereby the Laclede Company would furnish the sas to his concern for dirtributlon. Instead of a manufacturing plant In St. Louis County, pumping sta tions are to be built. Cable said that the proper amount of capital would be forth coming to lay tne mains wnen the fran chise was Granted and that It was the In tention tn furnish the unincorporated as well as the Incorporated towns. Twenty Inch mains will be laid for the high pres sure that Is expected. , By the terms of Its franchise the La clede Gas Company Is forbidden to extend Its rialns beyond tre corporate limits of St. Loul3. but there is nothing forbidding It from connecting with those that are built from the outside to the corporate limits of St. Louis. MOUNT AND JONES ARRESTED. Charged With Running Poolroom in St. Louis County. Sam Mount and F. L. Jones were ar rested in the Morische Grove poolroom yesterday afternoon by Sheriff Hencken of St. Louis County, on a charge of run ning the place. The Sheriff swore to tl)e Information against the men on evidence furnished to him by a deputy, who had visited the place Wednesday. The warrants were is sued by Justice of the Peace Julius Buer mnn of Ballwln. . Mount Is said to be the manager of the room. Jones is an operator.
