W$) 5v GRAY TAUT TOSA TO HI FEATURE Burnett Gelding Seems Likely to Carry Off' Honors in Del Tnar Handicap. LASSO IN THIRD EVENT. Ethel's Pride 3Tay Capture First Race and Bob Curt' Looks Well Marlin May Score. The handicap at Delmar this afternoon should furnish a cracking good contest nnd It looks as If Burnett's gray Taby Tosa should be In front at the end of the znlle and a sixteenth, with Sam Cral? nearest to him and Lubln .third. Toby's last race. In which he ran third to Pretension and rootlights Favorite, was good, and It seems as though lie Is returning to his early-season form. If he was the Taby Tosa of carly'In the spring; this race would be only a gallop for him. Hut he has bled in some of his recent races and has become an uncertain quan tity. In his last two races he has pulled up sound and fresh, and If lie runs bad: to either of hl& last two starts he will win to-day. Sam Craig ran a good race Saturday, when he defeated a fair lot of horses at a mile and three-sixteenths, winning pulled up" by fle lengths. He seems to be the contender, with a, good rider. lie can cither run in front or come from behind, but his best races here have been when he has come from behind, so he will probably be rated this afternoon. .Lubln closed ery htrong on his race tlalurda und finished a food fourth, and should beat J-lora WUIouehbv for the show money. Old Sambo is in here with lop neignt. but His race yesterday with much inferior hor-hes hardly sues a chance to him In this company. A bunch ol maidens will go to-the post In the flrst race, and Ethel's Pride should win on account of her early speed. Aluam's Silly is very specdj and subuld set so far away from her Held in the early stages of the race to carry her to ictory. Dorothy Dodd should beat Bessie Mc for the place. -Bob Curt's early speed should go a long way toward earning him a victory In the second race. Curt is a ery fast animal and. as the race is only live and a half furlongs, he should lead this bunch all the way. Jladoc bhould be second and Maid of the Order third. Baggerly Is in this race and if he Is ready he can beat this kind of horses. But he has not been out in a long while and the chances are that he Is not In condition. For this reason he must be passed up. The third race lies between Lasso and Felix Mozzes. being a close fit between the two. Lasso has tho class of the pair, out Mozzes has been running so well late ly that he will give the Lcmp mare a battle for first money. Lasso's last race was a bad one, but she should beat Moz zes on her class. Mozzes is wind-broken and -any day mayrstop. For this reason Is a bad betting proposition. King's Charm trill beat the others. The nrsh race Is a close fit" between Gay Uzzette and Mafalda. Gay Liz zette finished very strong on her last race and beat the Hayes mare to tho wire. Light Opera and Byron Rose have not been put In in a long time and they should fight It out for the show money, the chances favoring the former. Msrlln. if ridden properly, can win the last race. In his last race, which was at a mile and three- sixteenths, he was six lengths in front in the first half mile. Consequently, he tired badly in the run down the stretch and finished third. In his first two starts here, befth of which he won, he was rated back in the bunch and made his run In the stretch. If he Is run that way to-day he should ..haye no trouble In. beating Mindora and Frank Bice to the wire. ADEN WON FEATURE BY NARROW MARGIN Stringer Horse Came Home First in Feature Event at Delmar, Beating Anne Davis a Head. Carrying top weight of 122 pounds and running the seven furlongs in 1:273, only half a second behind the track record, Aden defeated Anne Davis In the handi cap at Delmar yesterday afternoon by a head, with Edith May a length back. Aden broke back In the bunch, but shot at once to the front and led for a. quar ter or a mile, where Arlena passed hint and opened up a rap of two lencths. with Aden In second position, Bdltb May third and Anne Davis fourth. They ran in this order to the back stretch, where Arlena began to tire, and by the time the head ofthe stretch was reached Aden had cut her lead down to half a length, while Edith May had closed on Aden and was only a length behind him. Half way down the straight Aden was In front by a length and Edith May was second, while Anne Davis had moied up to third position and waa coming strong. A sixteenth from home Aden, Anne Da vis and Bilth May were running head and head, but Davis and Aden slowly drew away from May and fought It out head and head to the wire. Aden Just did last lone enough to beat tho Hayes mare, while Edith May was a length back. A bunch of maiden 2-year-olds went to' the post In the first race, with De Vines backed into favoritism at post time. Se Daniel, at 4 to 1, won the' second race from Fltzbrlllar and Doctor Burns. St. Daniel had to be much the best to win, as he was off absolutely last and had to run all around his fleldi .He found an opening In the stretch, which his Jockey sent him through, and got up in time to win going away by a length. Fitz brlllar. who set all the pace. Just lasted long enough to beat the 25-to-l shot Doc tor Burns a nose for the place. Another bunch of maiden 2-year-olds was In the third race.
