The magnitude of the work cannot hardly be imagined. MOVING PATIENTS DIFFICULT. The old City Hospital 1s possesed of many winding etairwaya. These statr waya lead to the various) wards through out ths building and oecessltate the car rying of patients, one at a time, from the upper stories to tha basement, where, at tht reception room door, the ambulances and other vehicles will ha backed up to car: the helpless away. Each patient Is carried down the stafr v.avs. strapped upon a stretcher. Many stretcher-ca-riers will have to be em ployed to assist In tha work. At present only four stretcher-carriers are employed at tliu hospital. They could only move the patients from one ward la a day. Its yterllizlng plants In the dreslna; room and laundry are said to be the finest equipments ever Installed. A convenience that has newer been en joyed In the City Hospital Is also In the r.ew building In the shape of a modern rystem of parsenser elevators. The laundry at the new City Hospital, according to ejpertsi who have Inspected the plant recently. Is excelled by none. It In one of the most Important factors of a hospital, the test and most modern ma chinery being used in Its erection. The new City Ho.tpltal will accommo date comfortably SCO patients. The build ing soon to be vacated was crowded when Z'X patients were entered there.
