SUMMARY0FST10UIS MARKETS Though the volume of tradlnc ta wheat was sot larg in yesterday's market, there was enough professional and scatplnc support to cause a good advance of future values. Weather conditions and the state of the local cash market had considerable effect in working the advance. There mi some early weakne5s in response to a drop of a cent In the Minneapolis -market, but this had only temporary effect here. Powerless to force a decline also was a report that Kansas City cash prices were xliarply lower. In the face of the excellent inquiry here this sort of news had prac tically no effect. Rains had fallen over a considerable portion of the winter lelt and crop advices were' less reassuring than they had been for several days.' The move ment to market was checked by bad roads and In some sections harvesting was re tarded. Traders who went -short Saturday were anxious to cover and there was fair ly brisk buying toward the close of the session. Activity was mainly in the Sept. option, which closed with a good advance. Corn wax easy throughout the session. Receipts were large and there was not enough outide surirt to keep value. on the upturn. &:pt.. wheat openid hSUc up and closed ic up. Sept. corn opened Tic off and closed He off. Kept, oats closed unchanged. Receipts of produce ere moderate and prices of fruits and vegetables were gen erally steady. Local securities were extremely dull. Traction and telephone isues had some support. Yesterday's bank clearings were 9,St9.S8L balances y.0?.7!i Dlcnint rales were steady between 4 and 5s per cent. Spot cotton was steady Ih the local market. WHEAT VALUES ADVANCE ON MODERATE BUYING. CASH DEMAND GOOD. IS VERY General Tone of Market Is Strengthened by Weather and Crop Reports. ' Fairly good buying kept the wheat market on the upturn at yesterday's session. Kalny weather and a very good local cash Inquiry were the main bullish factors. Statistical news also was favorable to the bulls. There was not a great deal of outside trading, but professionals and scalpers who were on the short side gave the ruling options all the support they needed, lloth July and tV-.t.-nib'-T elided with good speculative g:iint.
