That a like policy should be pursued in re spect to public improvements and in encour agement of labor. That the tax payers be relieved of all un necessary burdens and that disbursements be strictly and economically guarded and faith fully accounted for. That the unexplained deficits of past years be investigated and uncovered and the person or persons responsible therefor, and their bonds men be held to strict account. That we believe and are in svmpathy with all our fellow citizens in their demand for the re storation of the silver dollar 10 its normal place in the pockets of the people and as a standard money value free and unlimited in its coinage and uses. That our party stands committed to fair deal ing, home cntert rise fair wages, cash payments and genuine commercial progress. That our party stands committed against the lease or purchase of any private franchise that will operate to increase the burdens of the tax payers of this city but will alwavs encourage legitimate private enterprises by honest legis lation. GRAND REPUBLICAN RALLY. Notice is hereby given that on Monday even ing, April 30, 1S94, at 7:30 o'clock p. m. there will be a grand Eepublican rally and mass meeting on the military plaza east of the Le Jion hotel on Washington street, Phoenix, By order of the Eepublican City Central Com mittee. Attest: L. H. GOODRICH, V. H. LYM-1N, Sect. Chairman. L. J. Wood is considered to be the proper man for assessor and tax collec tor. His qualifications for the place will give him a large majority. Thos. Molloy is making a wonderful race tor marshal and has already dis tanced his opponents. Molloy wilJ get more votes than the combined opposi tion. Jim Monihon is making new friends every day among the voters and that he will be the next mayor is a cer tainty. It is only a question of ma jority. Whbk you cast your ballot for Frank Moss you vote for a man who is a heavy tax payer and who will make an ideal councilman from the Fourth ward. There will be no mistake in electing Moss. I. M. Cuiusty is entitled to a second R. A. Luwisj will be elected in the Second ward because he is a straight forward business man. The silly charges that he is identified with any political faction or interest are utterly without foundation and will not re ceive any credence. Mr. Lewis is pre eminently the man for the place. The Eepublican is informed that Mr. McNeill himself lost money in the unfortunate mining scheme mentioned yesterday and for that reason was un able to pay his men. "We have no de sire to misrepresent him or anyone else, and if our informant was in error we have no objt ction to making this correction. The truth only, is all we want to use in this campaign. A PROGRESSIVE TICKET. The ticket at the head of these col umns is one representing the best in terests of the city. It is one pledged to the development and progress of Phce nix, and if elected no voter who aided in its success need be ashamed of the fact. All of the candidates on this ticket are well known as men of character and standing in the community, and their lection is a guarantee of good govern ment for the ensuing year. They all stand squarely upon the plat form adopted at the convention and will carry out ita pledges to the letter, thus insuring a more prosperous and progressive era in the affairs of the city. Phoenix is at that point in its history when a wise and progressive govern ment is the thing most needful and that will be assured if the ticket at the head of this column is elected.
