Fresno, Cal., May 14. Another sen
sation cornea from an alleged attempt
to poison Mrs. Palmer, the sensational
witness in the Heath case. She was at
that time carried into the court on a cot
and testified for the prosecution.
Last week she wax taken before the
grand jury and was attended by a nnree
and a physician. Shortly after this
somebody went to her house and took
her a bottle of medicine purporting to
be from her physician, sent to her for
nervousness.
She regarded it euspiciously and to
day went before the grand jury with
the medicine. Upon analysis the bot
tle was found to contain croton oil,
which, if taken as prescribed, would
have caused death.
