diner's hall in terms of the call, except
that the array of talented speakers
promised did not appear. Neither
Judge Woy .rjor Bucky O'Neill were
present. Mr. Johnson of Lehi, was
introduced by the chairman, Mr. Gil
lett. He proceeded to enlarge on the
woes, distress and gaunt want stalking

Hopson, a witness against them on a
burglary charge.

Norfolk, Va., July 31. The first
hanging in Norfolk for fifty years took
place at noon today when Madison
Srown (colored) was hanged for the
murder of John Doland about sixteen
monthB ago.
