By the Associated Press. Dincjba, Cal., Aug. 9. This morning Henry Norton and Lafayette Ray be came involved in a shooting affray in which both were killed. A dispute arose over the settlement of a claim. Ray, accompanied by his wife and two children, drove to Norton's house and demanded a settlement and a quarrel ensued. Ray eot his gun from bis wajron de claring that he sotild nhoot Norton, whereupon Norton went into the house and got his gun. They then com menced to blaze away at short range until both fell dead. The starving strike leaders have sent telegrams all over the country to iaDor organizations tnat tne strike will be won if continued a short time longer. The Butchers Weaken. Omaha. Anc 9. Omaha, Aug. 9. The Union Pacific main line between Omaha and Ogden will be free from the protection oi troops by the end of the week. Gen.
