THE ARIZONA BEPTTBIilCAN: MONDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 2, 1901. HER HUSBAND LIED. - "Simply a brolcen heart killed my wife. She lay' dying ' In my arms.M lied to her; told her that . I had beVn exonerated and was entirely cleared. So she died happy." " As he spoke. Joseph Goldman, gazing on the face of his dead wife in, . the darkened parlor of his home, 63 Bain bridge street, Brooklyn, collapsed. He was assisted to his room and a hurry call was sent for Dr. Alterio, a few doors away. Dr. Alterio said he feared Goldman was not well enough to attend the funeral of his wife. The shock of knowing that her hus band, ostensibly a commission mer chant at 41S Broadway, was arrested charged with being" In control of a burglarous gang, and her unwearied, desperate and flnnlly successful efforts to secure a $10,000 "bondsman for ' him are believed to have caused Mrs. Gold man's death. She worked frantically to clear her husband, and died believ ing she had done so. "Heart disease" is the cause assigned for it by Dr. Al terio. Goldman protested his Innocence, but was arrested and bail was demanded In $10,000. His wife tried to raise this among her relatives. It was a large amount for people who did not share her conviction and her faith. Mrs. Goldman never faltered, but the strain caused her to fall 111. As her husband watched by her bedside she suddenly shook off the delirium and raised her self on her elbow to ask: "Dear Joe. how has the case gone?" Folding her In his arms, Goldman said: ' "It's all right, dear wife; I have been proved innocent and discharged." "I knew it." gasped his , wife, and died. -mn. a newspaper printed and- published In said Maricopa County. Dated Nov. 23rd. 1901. J. H. LANGSTON. . Probate , Judge. NOTICE FOR PUBLICATION.
