Tbe Republican printed a rtcry yeia- ttrday morning- of two temale huto ?s j who had been put off a train this sid-? , of PrrWott'a few daya at?o. They ar-- now residents or this city. Dressed in men's clothes in which they made . thuir first appearance. tney er; ' about as touKh specimens of the rnu:i , hoto as evr came to town and thitr lnsuafje and manner wet: toucher than those of the average tramp. They wore first noticed standing In front ai a Washington street saiQC-l on Tues day night. Co:nplair:t was made to Justice Bur nett about them and a warrant was wanted for their arrerl. At that time it was not known who they were, an I so far they had not been engaged In a violation of the law. The justice asked on what pround he should issue a war rant. The complainant replied, on tljf around that they were wearing men's clothing. It happens, though, that In this ter ritory thtit Is nt-t a. public offense. A woman may wear wha!?ver she pl-ascs in Arizona. Just so she wears encjRh of it. The Justice advised, thtVsh. that It be made known to these wo;:ien that If they would array themselves In the garments of their ei they wc-uld be regarded with less suspicion and. would be more likely to get along with the authorities. They went to a lodging house in the lower part of town and when they were next ss.-n they were wearing fe male clothing and looked much better. One of tne girls Ls about 20 years old and the other Is perhaps four or tlv years older. They have carried them selves with circumspection since they came to town, so that the police have had no excuse for trying to inquire !mn their earlier history. When they were put off the Santa Fe j train in the course of their first at tempt to come here the trainmen said that In all their experience with tramps they bad nver run acrossany who h.ul a better command of objectionable i language.
