Officer Iiussell landed a bad 'Mexican yesterday who, had he not been quite -m drunk, might have worked up a Ut ile business for the coroner. It was shortly after noon when the officer re vived a telephone call that Felix Oliso v. as terrifying the inhabitants near t lie turner of Sixth and Jefferson streets and particularly a woman who manag ed to hide out from him. He was arm ed wit,h a Winchester rifle and was thrr attr.ii:g to open an aggressive cam paign. The oilktr iespondod at once but be fore he got there two other men tried t engage his attention and disarm him. He got the drop on them with his weapon and they chose a discre tionary lir.e cf conduct. When Mr. Kussell ariived he boldly faced the b.it t 't y f r a minute till it looked like there was going to be something doing uho.i he quickly side-Pteppecl and loized Mr. IVlix by the throat. Others coming to his assistance the man was i'uoii overpowered and disarmed. His Winchester was loaded with six cart ridges and several others were fjund i,i his pockets. He was not in condition when jailed (a give a clear account of what he was trying: to do and the supposition is that he was merely drunk and looking fi.r blood. However desirable the divorce may be the process of getting it is so troublesome that men hesitate. That is why many a man goes through Utv bearded and married. Great excitement was caused laFt night about 10 o'clock over a shooting Incident that resulted only in the jail ing of an Indian and nobody hurt. Olli cer Lawrence found Sam Randall, a dissipated Indian, laboring under the weight of a jag at the corner of East Washington and Third streets and un dertook to arrc-st him.
