The cat tle supply at Kansas City last week was 30,500 head, and included a fair supply of fed western and panhandle steers and heifers, but a small pro portion of range stockers or feeders. Kansas fed panhandle steers, 1233, sold at $4.75 Monday, and tidy western steers brought 4.90 Tuesday, which was the high day of the week. After Tues day the market gave way to the in fluence of big receipts and finally closed about like the close cf the week. She stuff did not lose much, however, and good western heifers, 764, sold at $4.45 on Wednesday, with anything good to choice selling above $4. There was small inquiry for stock or feeding cattle, but it was more than ample for the very small supply, and prices ac cordingly gained 10 or 15 cents during the week. Choice stockers had the call. Colorado feeders sold at $4.10. Several dealers are carrying orders for stock cows, being unable to fill them; stock calves are also wanted. Market closed Friday steady to strong as compared with the low time of the week. $4.50. five cents above Thursday's bid. The supply is moderate at 6,000 head, mar ket steady to strong on nearly every thing, but a few plain beef steers are moving slowly. With moderate receipts in the next few weeks, dealers expect moderate advances in prices. Shtep run of 16,000 last week was not sufficient fcr killers here, and prices gained 20 to 25 cents. It is the season between unclippped and clipped stock, and more of the latter arrived yesterday than all of last week put to gether. The first Texas sheep of the season arrived yesterday; seven loads of 73 clipped Texans from Del Rio sold at $4.90, considered a very good opening price. High grade clipped wethers from vkiifity of Dallas sold at $5.25, and spring lambs out of same shipment brought $7.25, weighing 5S. Western clipped lambs sold at $6.75 late last week, and wethers would bring $5.75 for choke ones. Kansas and Col orado feed lots are empty, and Texas and Arizona must furnish bulk of sup ply for some time to come. Every thing points to present high range of prices holding good. lint Manufacturing company, killed the watchman. The total loss is placed at $10,000, and is partially covered by in surance. .
