When the doctor leaves and says the case is hopeless, what remains to be done? Nothing, if the doctor's word is final. Much, i you will listen to the statements of men and women who were once "hopeless cases " given up by doctors, and who were perfectly and permanently cured by the use of Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery. Nothing is more rure than that thousands of men and women with diseased lungs, obstinate coughs, hemorrhage, ema ciation and night sweats, have been restored to perfect health by the use of the " Discov ery." Will it cure you ? It has cured in ninety-eight cases out of every hun dred where it was given a fair and faith ful trial. By that record you have only two chances in a hundred of failure and ninety-eight chances of being restored to perfect health. It is worth trying. Abram Freer, Esq., of Rockbridge, Greene Co., Ill writes: "My wife had a severe attack of pleurisy and long trouble ; the doctors gave her up to die. She commenced taking Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Uucovery and she befran to improve from the first duse. By the time she had taken eight or ten bottles she was cured, and it was the cause of a large amount being sold here.- I think the 'Golden Medical Dis covery' is the best medicine in the world for lung tremble." Free. Dr. Pierce's Common Sense Medical Adviser containing over a thou sand large pages is sent free on receipt of stamps to pay expense of mailing only. Send 21 one-cent stamps for the book in paper covers, or 31 stamps for the cloth bound volume. Address Dr. R. V. Pierce, Buffalo, H. Y. M llll pleasant home, corner of Seventh and Jefferson streets. Mrs. David son and daughter will shortly leave for Scotland where they will spend the summer with relatives. THE CONTRACT. B. A. Fowler yesterday signed for the committee of citizens the formal contract between the committee and the banks under which the latter are to accept the notes and securities recently raised by the com mittee and advance money for the work on the Tonto freight road. The con tract was turned over to Walter Talbot, another member of the committee, who will secure the signatures of cashiers of the banks. PROMPT RESPONSE. Replies were received yesterday from th? friends of Ernest Savage, the young man who committed suicide at ths Commercial hotel on Wednesday night. A telegram was received by G. H. N. Luhrs from a brother of Savage living in Brooklyn, directing his personal ef fects to be sent there, and another was received at Merryman's undertaking house for the sending of the body to the former home of Savage in New Jer sey. THE TIME WAS NOT RIPE. At a meeting last night at the Osborn school house of the water uers of that neigh borhood for the purpose of electing commissioners, after a discussion of the object of the meeting it was decided to make no election. It was thought that in asmuch as there was nothing at pres ent for the commissioners to do, theie should be no election to a useless office. Satisfaction ,was expressed with ths work of the Water Users' association. In a year it was thought that commis sioners might be of service and the elec tion of them was postponed that long. He said last night that he intends to make a personal vis it to the Imperial valley in October, and also to the Salt River valley in Arizona. ROGERS SPRINGS MINES Bonded to National Copper 3 Gold Mining Co. of Arizona for $60,000. Correct Clothes for' Men It Marshall Bonney will communicate with his mother at Ogden, Utah, he will hear something to his advantage. . A representative of the National Copper & Gold Mining company of Arizona, was here last week from his home in Indianapolis, to meet G. M. Fowler, of this city, who has been in correspondence with him for some time respecting the acquirement of the Rog ers Spring group of copper- mines, thirty miles no,rth of Phoenix. Ths ! mines are owned by W. E. Marlar of I 111 1-J V.11, 1 1 111 It. 13 ailllUUllLCU llldl llUT National company has taken a bond on the property for $60,000, and will begin development work upon it at once, an advertisement to that effect appearing elsewhere in this issue. Mr. Fowler for the time being will represent the man agement and says he proposes to de velop the property at the rate of not les3 than 100 feet per month. The Rogers Spring group, though never extensively exploited, i3 one of many groups in that section that has been under location for a long time. The National company has also located surrounding claims that their holdings may not be interfered with in the event the property proves to be what they now think it is. The gentlemen composing the com pany are Michigan, Chicago and In dianapolis capitalists, and say they wiil have'no difficulty in getting' all the money they need to develop a mine as large as any in Arizona, in the event the property stands the test. Emil Ganz of this city will be one of the direc tors and G. M. F'owler will have a small stock interest in the enterprise. Tli.-t full official roster, however, has not been announced here yet. A cash pay ment has been made on the bond f sufficient amount to'make the contract binding and insure the beginning cf operations. The promoters of the Na tional C. & G. M. Company of Arizona are intimately connected with other large mining enterprises, t-.mong them the Calumet & Arizona, at Bisbee, the Calumet & Pittsburg, the Junction, and other associated investments. The suc cess of these mines is a guarantee of the good faith and business ability of the gentlemen concerned and a guar antee that if they have found what they are looking for there will be some thing doing worth while at the Rogers Spring property. RICH BACK COUNTRY Mining Region North of Phoenix a Valuable Undeveloped Resource. Today the first announcement is made of another new mining company, organized to start work in the mineral district north of Phoenix. This partic ular company proposes to raise $50,000 or more for development work and all Its trade will come to this city. Such enterprises deserve the co-operation of everyone interested in the fu ture cf Phoenix for in the end the greatness of the city will depend very largely upon the exploitation of the surrounding mineral districts. If Phoe nix is ever n'ade the mining centeT"of the territory as its location suggests that it should be, It will only be brought about by the hearty encour agement of all legitimate mining en terprises. It happens that the new mining com pany spoken of above is largely com posed of the same people, who have made the Calumet & Arizona at Bis bee a success, but the home compan ies, made up of local prospectors and local business and professional men, are entitled to the same hearty sup port as long as they continue honestly to seek for and develop promising claims. It is nonsense to say there are no more good mines to be found in the region mentioned. Work alone is all that is needed to transform many of the prospects of that region into paying mines and though they will not all prove to be United Verdes, yet in the aggregate they will produce more business for Phoenix than can now be estimated. The recent strikes of large and rich ore bodies in the Grand Tra erse & Arizona, the Marquette & Ari zona, the Ben Mur, the Mormon Girl, the Nil Desperandum and other prop erties in the Cave Creek section are but the beginning of. the inevitable advancement of one of the richest min eral districts in Arizona. o For correct prescription work try IJowd's the little drug store with the little prices.
