FINED ONCE MORE Leonidas Robles entered a plea of guilty in Jus tice Johnstone's court yesterday to a charge of disturbing the peace and was fined $5. She paid up and was dis charged. TO IRON SPRINGS Rev. Orville Coates of the First Baptist church left for Iron Springs this morning to make arrangements for his family to spend the summer there. He will return In time to fill his pulpit next Sunday. GOING TO LOS ANGELES E. IL Cooper will leave soon for Los Angeles to look over the field, with a view to engaging in business there. His wife and son ere already in the California city, and as soon as Mr. Cooper can adjust his business affairs here he will join them. Mr. Hess is a government sur veyor, and will make his headquarters in this city, he formerly having been located at Flagstaff. PAID HIS FINE Guadalupe San doval was before Justico Johnstone yesterday on a charge of being drunk and disorder!:-. The Mexican was found sleeping on a neighbor's porch at an early hour and he did not have on any more clothes than the law al lows. In fact it was the lack of clothes that contributed largely to his being fined $7 and cost?, which he paid. HOW TO EAT GERMAN CARP The Clifton Hill (Mo.) Rustler gives the following directions for eating German carp: When fishing if you catch a German carp clean it and hang it out in the sun six weeks to dry it, then nail it to a pine board and cover it thoroughly with salt or mud. Let it stand for two months longer and then bake it for two days. Then re move the nails and throw the cjrp over the back fence and eat the board. SALTON SEA RISING The Salton sea. In the Colorado desert, is rising rapidly and is delaying railroad travel slightly. Yesterday both the Rock Island and Southern Pacific trains from the west were late in arriving at Maricopa. No damage has been done to tha tracks by washouts, but as a matter of precaution trains are being run slowly through the district affected by the using water. It Is not thought the sea will rjse high nough to prove a serious menace to the country. I INCORPORATIONS Articles of In-j corporation were filed in the recorder's office yesterday by the Chanute Lime company, with r, capital stock of $60. 000, the Incorporators beinjj A. E. Snow, M. T. 'ones and F. R. Crone. Articles were also filed by the Great Tonopah Mining company, the capital stock being $1,000,000, and by the United Pacific Mining and Develop ment company, with a capital of $1, 000,000. The incorporators of the Ton opah company are E. J. Waidmann and C. J. Young, and of the other company, C. W. Bryson, H. W. Chase and H. Alden. RANGERS MAY HELP It was re ported yetciday that the Arizona rangers would assist the county au thorities in locating Ben Perkins, the negro who escaped from jail a few nights ago and against whom almost every crime in the calendar 13 being charged. Several rangers, it was said, are already in pursuit of the negro. A. H. Davidson said yesterday that he saw Perkins at Yuma Sunday night. The negro got on the platform of a car on which Mr. Davidson was standing, and when the latter spoke to Perkins lie was cautioned by the negro not to tell that he had seen him. Linville. who killed a large mountain lion last May in the vicinity of Cave Creek, presented the skin at the office of the board of supervisors yesterday and was paid the bounty, amounting to $20. Clerk Pendleton mutilated the skin and then returned it to Mr. Linville, who desired to keep it as a memento of his dangerous en counter with the animal. He came upon the lion at night, discovering it in a tree. The lion tried to get away but Linville shot It over the left eye, causing the lion to 'attack him. Then ensued a desperate fight, during which the infuriated beast clawed the man severely in the face and inflicted some serious bruises. The struggle ended by Linville's striking the lion on the head with the butt of his gun, pro ducing death. o SAN DIEGO CONGRATULATED Celebration In Honor of a. Step For ward In Isthmian Commerce. The exclusive contract for the use of the Panama railway expired yes terday and the citizens of San Diego planned for the holding of a celebra tion in recognition of the event. Here after the railway is open to all traf fic on equal terms which ought to be a great stimulus to the commercial business of the coast. At least it is so regarded in San Diego and the event is made one of great municipal Im portance. Being apprised by the San Diego chamber of commerce of yester day's celebration the Phoenix Board of Trade yesterday caused the follow ing telegram of congratulation to be pent: "Phoenix, July 12. 1905.
