DEFECTIVE FIXTURES. Eighteenth: Every existing water closet, sink, bath tub, basin or other fixture that now is. or shall hereafter become unhealthful or unsanitary, must be replaced wih other fixtures of their respective cla-?s or changed in accordance with this ordinance. PRIVY VAULTS AND CESSPOOLS. Nineteenth: No privy vault shall be maintained or allowed in any part of the special fire limits. JOISTING OF IRON PIPING. Seventh: All joints in cast iron soil pipes, whether inside of the building or otherwise, shall be made with pig lead and oakum and thoroughly caulk ed. VENT MATERIAL. Eighth: All vent pipes and their fittings must be either cast iron or galvanized wrought iron reamed out of standard weight or extra heavy. Ninth: All vertical stacks of soil or waste pipes shall be provided with brass trap screw ferrule at the foot, and also in other places where the in specting officer may think It necessary. All changes of direction of soil or waste pipes shall be made with full Y branches and one-eighth bends; sanitary T's shall not be used except in perpendicular stacks. CONNECTING OF LEAD PIPES, ETC. Tenth: Ail connections between lead piping shall be joined by plumb ers' wiped joints. Connections betwee.. soil pipe and lead shall be made witn brass ferrules or brass soldered nip pies, and plumbers' wiped joints. Boil ed or copper bit. cup or flush soldered joints are prohibited in all cases. SIZE OF WASTES. Eleventh: 'Waste pipes in all cases shail be of lead or cast iron of th following sizes: For bath tubs, laun dry trays, sinks, urinals, wash basins, each not less than one and one-half inches; slop hoppers .tot less than two inches. SIZES OF SPECIAL AIR PIPES. Twelfth: All traps and vents thai' be' the same size as the wastes; pro ided, that if more than one fixtur? shall be as follows: For more than one and rot exceeding two fixtures, one and one-half inches, internal diam eter; for more than two and not ex ceeding eight, two and one-half inches, internal diameter; for more than eight and not exceeding twelve, three in ches, internal diameter. SIZES OF SPECIAL AIR PIPES FOR WATER CLOSETS, ETC. Thirteenth: Crown vent pipes from water closets, slop hoppers, or slop without re-examination of plumbing, drainage and ventilation. Section 13. Any person or persons may use a running trap in any plumb ing or drainage system, and when so used it shall te constructed as follows: There shall be placed on the house drain and on the sewer side of ail connections a running trap. If placed outside of the building or below thi cellar floor it must be accessible In a brick or wood manhole, not less than three feet square. This trap must have two clean-outs with brass screw cap furru'es. A vent pipe must be connected on each side of running trap. These vent pipes must be of cast iron and of weights as given ia section eleven of this ordinance and of not less than three inches internal diameter for every increase of one inch in the house drain. The vent pipe on sewer side of running trap must be carried up to. and at least six inches above, the highest part of the main roof. The vent pipe on house side of running trap may terminate abov. the roof at any point not less than eight feet from any window, door, chimney, or air-shaft. Section 14. Any person, firm, or members thereof or any corporation, or officers thereof, who shall either violate or neglect or refuse to compiv with the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than five dollars and not more than one hundred dollars, or be im prisoned in the city jail not less than five days and not more than fifty days, or be both fined and imprisoned, and ever;- day during which the wor' of plumbing or drainage is continued in violation of the provisions of thi3 ordinance shall be considered as con stituting a new offense and be punish able as in this section provided. REPEAL Section 15. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith ar hereby repealed. Section 15.
