He bagged a couple of bear and three deer during his trip. THE INJURED DOING WELL It was announced yesterday that Mrs. R. H. Wilkinson, who was danger ously injured a few days ago by a fall, was considerably Improved and that Mrs. Olewine, also stopping in the Winkinson household and suffer ing of a broken arm, was doing as well as could be expected. Los Angeles and on their re turn trip spent several days with some friends at Hillside. Mr. Collins re turned more than ever satisfied that Arizona Is the best place on earth. CHURCHILL SCHOOL MOTHERS The mothers of the Churchill school are Invited to meet at the school house on Thursday afternoon. October 5ti, at 3:30. It is desirable that the moth ers and teachers meet in a social way at least once every month and it is hoped this meeting may result in re establishing the mothers' circles in that school. Smith left here for his boyhood home in Ten nessee to spend, as he said, the re maining years of his long and useful life. He has lived in the west almost ever since Christopher Columbus dis covered America, and was one of the first men to glory in the fame of Virginia City, Nev., and the early gold strikes, in California, though he has been -a. resident of Arizona for many years past. Naturally his friends all predicted that he would soon return to Arizona for he couldn't stay away. He is back here again to remain in definitely, but insists it was not homesickness though he is not very sorry he had to come. The owners of the 'Phoenix mine of which he was In, charge for a long time, sent him back to straighten up the tangle that followed the management -of the re cent leasers of the property.
