Tnei-e ale several different ginning projects before the commit tee, and much other matters of great importance to the growers and it ssas decided to call a meeting of all the cotton planters of the Mesa sec tion to m.et at the city hall in Mesa Saturday, June 7th. There has been some differences between the planters as to the kind of an organization they wanted to belong to, and much has been said on the tn-ei corners for and against each and every clause of the by-laws oi the organization, but the fact re mains that praetically all the plan ters want, an organization. Eseis one realizes the futility of the crop being handled individually, and now is the time for the planters to get together and say, each and es.-ry one. just what he wants and see if the diff.-r- nce.s cannot be removed and a com pact organization affected. Bids were opened by the Water P'sers yesterday for a huge concrete house 14u feet one way by S feet the other, lsv and three stories in height, and located on the south face of the Hole in the Bock hills ssith which to shelter the Cross Cut water power machinery. Four complete bids were tendered, but the award ssas not made osving to the close ness of the figures, which makes necessary some minute comparisons; the contract will probably be award ed on Monday. The construction committee of the Water Users" association met yester day to open the bids on the Cross Cut power plant. Here are some of the figures: Martin and Oillas asked $37.:1T4 for the entire building. On extra work the bids were as follows: Con crete. Jo. 2.1 a yard; steel, 5 cents n pound; excavation, $L'.a0 a yard: the whole to he done in 200 days. The Arizona Knginoering and con struction company, somewhat beter known as Bowen and Shumsvay wanted 531,400 for the" lump sum. $S and $: for the two classes of con crete, four cents for the steel arid $4 for the excavation. K. W. Keithline asked $37, nil for the main part of the construction, ten and ten fifty for the cement work, four cents for the steel and $3.7.1 for the digging. This bid guar anteed to finish the job in ISai days.
