SPECIAL PROGRAM AT
CENTRAL H. I CHURCH
Central Methodist church is ar
ranging for one of the biggest days
in its history Easter Sunday. At 7
o'clock the Epworth League will hold
a sunrise prayer meeting, to which
everyone is invited. The service will
be. in the nature of a song and praise
service. Miss Margaret Alsap will
have charge of the meeting. At 9:45
a. m. the Sunday school will meet in
its organized classes for a study of
the lesson, "The Journey to Em-
mans" (Luke xxiv., i:'.-35). At 11
o'clock the pastor will preach on
"The Resurrection." The choir has
prepared special Easter music for
this service. Two tint hems will be
sung, . "Awake, Thou That Sleepest"
(Greene) and "Triumphant Strains
Arise" (Chipman). At the close of
this service, a class of sixty persons
will be taken into the church, with
appropriate ceremony. The young
people of the church will spend the
afternoon in visiting and carrying
Easter joy to those who tire unable
to get out. At fi:30 p. m. the Ep
worth League will hohl its special
Easter service. The junior pastor
will speak on "Lessons of the Res
urrection." Special music kas been
prepared for this service also. Miss
Margaret Alsap and Mr. C. N. Carr
will sing solos.
At 7:30 o'clock in the evening, the
Choral Society of I'hoeni.v, under the
direction of Mr. William Conrad

Slayer of Husband Probably Will
Plead Self Defense; Victim
to Be Buried Here
Mrs. Mamie Mullanax. who shot
her husband to death 'hear esido
last week, was brought before Justice
of the Peace Johnstone yesterday anil
her arraignment in superior court
was set for Thursday morning. It is
considered certain that the young
woman will offer self defense as the
reason for the shooting. Site alleges
that her husband sprang toward her
while she was getting her belongings
ill their tent and that she shot to
save herself from harm.
Claude Mullanax. the victim, will
not be buried in his home in Lead
Hill, Ark. A telegram has been re
ceived from his father. The father
states that he has no money with
which to bring his hoy back home
for burial. Mullanax saved a little
money while in Phoenix and this
will be used to defray funeral ex
penses Dr. L. R. Wiggins, the Texas phy
sician who killed Tap Booth in Tem
pe one (lay after the Mullanax trag
edy, probably will he brought into
justice court Monday morning to
have the date of his preliminary
examination fixed.
Zach Booth, father of Tap, is duo
in Phoenix this week. He has noti
fied friends in Phoenix that he will
take an active p:irt in prosecuting
the slayer of his son.
