COTTON MATTERS ARE iSCUSSED IT TEMPE Joint Boards of Trade Consider Send ing Men to European Cotton Markets his Season ' With every Board of Trade of the valley represented the joint meeting held in the council chambers of Tempe yesterday afternoon proved one of interest and value to the Salt River Valley. The meeting was well attended there being sixteen repre sentatives present as well as several other interested parties. The Phoenix Board of Trade were represented by Harry Welch, C. T. Hirst, Sid Henry, and Vernon L. Clark; Chandler by G. T. Peabody; Mesa by J. L. "War ing, W. S. Dorman, A. Barrett and W. L. Sirrine. C. E. Coldweil was present from Pcottsdale and- Ralph Murphy from Glendale and from the local board of trade were C H. Wa terhouse. W. II. 'Wilbur. , Howard Brown, John Birchett and C. G. Jones. - The members assembled, as well ns representing the various boards, were also members M the scovral cotton growers' organizations of the valley, and the meeting 'yesterday was principally devoted to discussing matters of importance to, cotton growers. The question under con sideration was the advisability of the local organizations sending a min '' Europe this season to help dispose of ; the cotton crop of the fall. The m . . . , fril l.,,tv, c',. ' iiwun vtin Lunvu ui i'ui nd the general consensus of opinion seemed to he that Salt River valley : should be represented in the - larger . mill centers of Europe, but, at the j present time, that the matter should ; be continued until further auvice ; could be received upon it. It was : decided to correspond w ith McFad- j .len brothers, who handled last year's crop, and again from them something j jjr. cheely plans to install extens or their plans regarding the handling jve kennelr, and care for d.ifcS as a of this vcar's erowth. It is possible I that at a later meet me the oraan a- ions may combine and employ a representative, whose duty it will be ; to visit the mill centers and-act as; salesman for the farmers of th Salt ; River Valley. Egyptian cotton from this valley j has won a wide reputation in Euro- j pean markets and by placing it be- j fore the millers it is certain to bring larger returns. I o i.
