Mr. Berrien hails from El Paso where he is prominent in business and social c ircles. FUNERAL OF A BABE The burial of Edith Agnes, the babe of Mr. and 1rs- rV'ry- W. Munger, took place yes terday morning at nine o clock. Tue child whi. was only twenty months old, died the afternoon before after an ill ness of only four days. The funeral was private being attended only by fiiends of the family. ORME AND ELLIOTT.-Piesident Orrne and Engineer Elliott of the Wwter Iers' Association, the investi gator appointed by the special meet ing id the board of governors, have gone to Camp Verde via Prcseutt to look into the matter of the Verde ditch. They intend finding out the true condition of affairs and in case they discover that the settlers along the river have cxceedcl their rights in appropriating water from the stream, they will return to file in junctions in the Maricopa and Yava pai county courts. It is stated that this me'hod of moving the men from one camp to the other will result in a saving of fifty per cent over cost of tail-, toatl travel CLEARING UP THE POTTER'S FIELD It is only eight days now- un til Decoration Day and if the design of decorating the rotter's field, something that has never before been done in Phoenix to hi; done on that day, a good deal of clearing up will have to be done, rt will not cost a great deal to have it done but it will cout something and the money will have to be raised by popular subscription. The money may be left with Miss Elizabeth Bar ger at the Associated Charities who has charge of this worthy enterprise. It. is hoped that the donations may bo numerous. None of them need be great. DEATH OF A BOY Robert Percy Snuedland. aged ten years anil six months, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Sunderland of 20!t East Van Bu ren street diej yesterday morning at one'o'clock. The funeri! will take place en Saturday morning at nine o'clock from the chapel of Moore & MeLcllan. The little boy had been ill for nearly a year, the nature of his ailment not having been definitely determined But it is thought that death resulted from a valvular trouble of the heart. There was a hope or his recovery until a couple of weeks ag . when a little play mate across the street died. From that time the condition of the little boy gradually grew worse.
