The Board with County Attorney, F. H. Lyman proceeded to make an ex
amination of the Treasurer's office for the purpose of verifying the report
submitted, and after completing their examination of said Treasurer's office
they filed their sworn statement as follows;
Thttt by the books and statement of Geo. A. Macdonald. Treasurer of
Maricopa County, State of Arizona, submitted to and filed in tlie office of
tlie Board of Supervisors of said County, there should be in the Treasury of
said County the sum of $163,018.58, that we and each of us personully count
ed the money in tlie treasury of said County and that we found in said
treasury the following sums and kinds of mooey, to-wit:

ROAD PETITION FILED
A petition having been heretofore filed with this Board by G. B. Norton,
et al, praying the Board to establish a public road along tlie following boun
daries, to-wit:
Commencing at a point where the North Bank of the new Grand Canal
intersects the Median line extending North and South through the renter of
Section 7, Township one North. Range Four East, and extending thence
North through the center of Sections 7 and (. Township one North. Range four
East, and Sections 31, SO, and 19, Township two North, Range four East to
the south bank of the Arizona Canal, the said roadway to be 66 feet in width,
33 feet thereof on each side of said Median Line.
And it appearing to the Board that the said petition was signed by at
least ten persons, residents of the County and paying taxes therein. And ?l
further appearing that notices had oecn duly posted as required by law,
stating the beginning and terminus of said road, its general course and di
rection, and further stating that application would be made to the Board of
Superv isors on April 6, 1914, at ten o'clock A. M. for action on said petition
and for the establishment of said road; proof by affidavit of the posting of
such notice being duly made and filed with this Board as provided by law.
THEREFORE, it Is ordered that O. C. Thompson. County Surveyor, and
C. E. Frisbie and A. G. Tshalar, be and they are hereby appointed as a Board
of Viewers to view out and locate said road, and to appraise and report all
damage that may !e caused by said location or change.

Shill, et al, praying the Board to establish a public road along the following
boundaries, to-wit:
Commencing at tlie center of Section 2, Township one North, Range five
East, and extending thence East on Median line a distance of one-half mile to
the East line of said Section 2. the said road to be 66 feet in width, 33 feet
thereof on each side of said Median Line.
And it appearing to the Board that the said petition was signed by at
least ten persons, residents of the County and paying taxes therein. And it
further appearing that notices had been duly posted as required by law,
stating tile beginning and terminus of said load, its general course and di
rection, and further stating that application would be made to the Board' of
Supervisors on April 6th, 1914, at ten o'clock A. M. for action on said peti
tion and for the establishment of said road: proof by affidavit of the post
ing of such notice being duly made and filed with this Board as provided by
law.
THEREFORE, it is ordered that O. C. Thompson, County Surveyor, and
A. W. Lamson and A. L. Power, be and they are hereby appointed as a Board
of Viewers to view out and locate said road, and to appraise and report all
damage that may be caused by said location or change.
On motion and by unanimous vote of Board stood at recess until ten
o'clock A. M., Monday, April 13, 1914.

trict Number Seventeen of Maricopa
County. State of Arizona, for the issu
ance of Bonds of said School District,
on motion and by unanimous vote the
Board passed and adopted the follow
ing res dution :
WHEREAS, in pursuance of and iu
conformity with an Act of the Second
Special Session of the First Legislature
of the State of Arizona, entitled, "An
Art to Provide for the Establishment
and Maintenance of a General and Uni
form Public School System", approved
April 8th, 1913. and all acts amenda
tory there .f and supplemental thereto,
the Board of Trustees of School Dis
trict Number Seventeen of Maricopa
County. State of Arizona, has certified
the Board of Supervisors all tlie

sum of. Fifteen Thousand Dollars for

WHEREAS, it appears in and by
said proceedings that at a meeting of
s-aid Board of Trustees duly called and
held on the 13th day of February. 1914.
at which meeting there, were present a
majority of the members of said Board
of Trustees, a resolution was duly
adopted and entered o record, calling a
special election to be held on the 21st
day of March, 1914, between the hours
of nine o'clock in the forenoon and
four o'clock in the afternoon of said
day, nd that said election be held at
the school house situated in said
School- District Number Seventeen of
Maricopa County, State of Arizona, for
ihe purpose of submitting to the tax
payers of said School District

lished at Phoenix. Maricopa County,
State of Arizona, not less than once a
week for three successive weeks, and
that said notice contained.
First. The purpose and place of hold
ing such election.
Second. The names of three judges
j to conduct the same.
Third. The hours during the day

polls would be open.
Fourth. The amount and denomina
tion of the bonds, the rate of interest,
and the number of years, not exceeding
twenty, the whole or any part of said
bonds are to run; and
WHEREAS, it further appearing in
and by said proceedings, that pursuant

and that on the seventh day thereafter,
at one o'clock p. M.. the returns of
said election having been made to the

that the Negotiable Coupon Bonds of

of Maricopa County, State of Arizona,
be issued in tile aggregate to the
amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars.
Said Bonds shall consist of Thirty
Bonds for the sum of Five Hundred
Dollars each, shall be dated May first.
1914, shall be due and payable twenty,
years from the dale thereof, shall bear
interest at a rate not to exceed six per
cent per annum, payable semi-annually,
both principal and interest payable
at the office of the County Treasurer
of .Maricopa County. Arizona, in Gold
Coin, lawful Money of the L'nited
States of America, of the present -standard
of weight and fineness: said
bonds shall be signed by the Chairman
of tile Board, attested by the Clerk, un
der the seal thereof, and countersigned
