Everyone is willing to admit lhat of course, but even so, it is "going rome" to find out a man, any man, in three days time. MIes Honora Hamilton, after three evenings trial, can tell whether a man is a friend or a failure. A friendship with an actress develops quickly and most of them are formed the same way according to Miss Hamilton. "The fist evening, after the intro duction, he arranges a little party after rA MM th 51 J H. ii is Miss Honora Hamilton, the Beauty the sdni.v. He tells you how much he admires your work and how very unxieus he has been to meet you the past week:',. He Ids you know he thinks you well not exactly bad look ing but he is very moderate in his praise. It is delightful and .she laughs, for with all her experience and despite her statement thut nearly aU men are alike, the probably thinks one is a bit diflerent. "The second evening" continues the fascinating young woman who has ad ded many to her list of acquaintances since her rerent appearance, "you mo tor. You are unchaperoned and only go for a short ride. Its just to refresh pa County, in the city of Phoenix, Arizona, until eleven o'clock A. M. A fill or embankment to be made at the west end of said Eridge and also a cut, the two to gether to form an even grade (of about one and eight-tenths pu-.' cent) from the grade at the end of the Eridge to a grade stake in the road about two hundred forty five feet west therefrom, at which point a cut of about twelve inches is re quired. Third. Two small adobe Buildings at west end of Bridge to be torn down and removed. The material from the cut is to be used in making the embankment at the went end of said Bridge and to finish or su.-face the embankment at the east end of said Bridge. None of the material removed from the cut is to be wasted. you after an afternoon's rehearsal fol lowed by two performances. There is a little more admiration, and the con versation is more er confidential and then a charming chat of frivolous things over a dainty supper." "The third evening", concluded the beautiful prima donna with a more blase manner, ' tells the tale. He is either willing to be that jarc tiling, a Platonic friend or he is a failure. Mont of them belong to the latter class. Three men friends out of the thousands v ... I. f of the Show at the Columbia I have known is my record. In singing in cafe vaudeville and musical com edy I have met many and" she gave a hopeless shrug of her shapely shoul ders. "Perhaps you are exacting" I suggested. "Oh no, I don't think so. To attract me, a man must be strongminded first of all and have common sense. I ad mire sincerity more than any one thing, A pleasant manner and a keen sense of humor because I love to laugh and Oh dear me, I nearly overlooked that most important necessity plenty of money. Not that I care for it, don't you know, but just so it does not have to be considered."
