It appears that the bond market opened all of a sudden for Tempe, for on top of the announcement made that the $30,000 worth of bonds for the grammar school building had been sold, comes a duplicate sale which means early work on the sew er system. The firm of Sweet, Caus ey, Foster & Co., of Denver, repre sented by J. Wj Thompson, of Phoe nix, are the purchasers in both in stances. It was a spirited gathering of Tempe property owners and tax payers Thursday evening that ulti mated in the purchase of the bonds. At the call of the council thirty or forty citizens turned out at the meeting, heard the expressions of the council on the proposition of the bond sale, and then in turn express ed a few of their own thoughts. The idea was regarded favorably by prac tically everybody present, and before adjournment the council had taken the last step towards ultimately clos- ng the deal for a sale of the bonds. Actual construction work will be gin on the sewerage system just as promptly as a return on the bonds is received.
