HORSE IN SEWER TRENCH
The first accident as a result of
the sewer construct ion work which
was recently started in Tempe went
on record yesterday morning when a
horse fell into a six foot trench on
1 West First Street. The trench is

OPERATION IN CHICAGO
Ray W. Nichols left last evening
for Chicago, where he will have his
arm attended to by Dr. .Murphy, one
of the leading physicians of that city,

bridge here the middle of last sum
mer when two machines collided.
Mr. Nichols has been in the hospi
tal twice, but the operations have
never proven a success.
