Word has been re ceived from George C. Perkins, a for mer Mesa boy that he had enlisted in the aviation corps, and by the time the letter was received he already had left for Fort Sam Houston, at which place he had been, instructed to re port. Perkins was a graduate of the Mesa Union high schocl and well liked for his genial friendly disposition. Those who know him best believe that the lad will make good in his hazardous calling. He gave up a good position in Nogales with the Standard Oil com pany. His trunk was sent to Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Dana for safe keeping until called for.
