The state's illustrated attorney calls attention to the fact that selling cigarettes is prohibtied by the state law and expressed the fear that these kits may be used as a subterfuge to get around the law. State's Attorney A. AV. Kowler has notified several dealers who have stocks of these kits on hand that these cannot be sold in Fargo and that prose cutions will follow violations of the law. "As I understand it." the state's at torney said, "these are to be sold over the counter to anyone who wishes to purchase them, and there is no assur ance that they will he sent to soldiers at all. "The sale of cigarettes is clearly il legal, and while the furnishing: of to bacco to the soldiers is a. very laudable project, there is great danger that this particular method might be used as a subterfuge for the illegal sale of cigarettes." u-jwiii. :tmMr iDmiM."'n' li imriiiliVl'tlP"'"'''' '"'" 1,1 ii.iibi AUTO SUPPLIES, REPAIRS I" HUDSON CARS-REPUBLICTRUCKS AUTO SUPPLIES CAL. L. IT. Foster, a member of the board of supervisors of Mohave county, and himself an engineer, was in Phoenix yes terday. At the offices of the state tax commission Mr. Foster outlined the route of the new Kingman-Phoenix highwav and explained its many advantages, natural and otherwise. "The new highway runs south over the present excellent road from Kingman to Yucca, then southeast by the old Signal road to the Bill Williams fork, crossing about seven miles above Swansea. From that point to Congress Junction, about 52 miles, there is almost a boulevard now. "The entire road from Kingman to Congress Junction is about 210 miles. It is a 'dry road', all the wav, a highway of low elevation that will get no snow and will be good all through the winter. The principal work will be ueeessarv between the Bill Williams fork and-the McCracken Mountains From Yucca to the river is a good desert road. "C. W. Lynch, another member of the Mohave county board of supervisors, and myself are the principal ones behind this new highway. It will be constructed from county funds surveying having started yesterday. We hope some day to interest the state sufficiently to got a bridge across the "Bill " illiams river on this road. A ninety-foot span will cross it and there is solid rock on either side."
