Legal Advertising PROPOSED AMENDMENT To the ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION Of the SALT RIVER VALLEY WATER USERS' ASSOCIATION WHEREAS it is proposed to amend Article IV. Section 1 of the Articles of Incorporation of the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association so that the same after amendment may read as follows: f ARTICLK IV Section 1. The object for which the Association is organized and the general nature of the business to be transacted by it shall be and are: To provide for and distribute and furnish to the lands' of the holders of shares of said Association to which said shares and the rights and Inter ests represented thereby are appur tenant, an adequate supply of water for the irrigation of snid lands: To divert water within the Territory of Arizona from the public sources of water supply, to impound water and develop sources of water, to pump wa ter from underground sources, to rarry and distribute water for tti Irrigation of the lands aforesaid, and to construct purchase, lease, condemn or otherwise in any way whatsoever acquire and own. hold, have, use, control, maintain, preserve, manage, operate and conduct the means therefor and any and all rights, reservoirs, dams, canals, ditch es, flumes, headgates, pipes, machin- Legal Advertising ery, wells, pumps, pumping plants, power houses, transmission lines, and property both real and personal of every nature and kind whatsoever necessary or appropriate for the ac complishment of any of the objects or purposes aforesaid; To divert, impound, develop, pump, distribute, deliver and use water for all beneficial uses and purposes from sur face and subterranean sources, by any means adapted to any of the purposes aforesaid, and create, transmit, live, sell and dispose of power for the ac complishment of any of the purposes or objects of the Association as here inbefore set forth, and for any other useful purpose ana for profit; To construct, install, operate and maintain pumps, di tehee, conduits and other drainage works for draining any or all of the land receiving water through the irrigation works of the As sociation: To have and exercise all the powers, and do all and everything necessary, suitable, convenient or proper for the accomplishment of any of the purpos es, or the attainment of any one or more of the objects herein enumerated, or incidental to the powers herein named, or which shall at any time ap pear conducive or expedient for the protection or benefit of the Association or it members as shareholders therein. NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by tho Council that said proposed i amendment be approved and that the Legal Advertising same, after publication as required by Article XVIII of said Articles, be sub mitted to a vote of the shareholders for their approval as required in said articles. The castings are to be made from patterns owned by the City of Phoenix, and on exhibition at 19th Avenue and Harrison Street, and must conform to certain specifications, copies of which may be obtained at the office of the City Electrician. Each bidder hereunder will be re quired to deposit with his bid a certi fied check in the sum of 10 per cent of his bid payable to the City of Phoe nix. Said, checks, other than that of the successful bidder, shall be returned to the bidders immediately upon letting of the contract. The check of the suc cessful bidder will be retained until he shall have executed a bond satisfajtOry Legal Advertising to the City, acting through its Citr Manager, conditioned that the bidder will perform the contract to be drawn between said City and said bidder, to the satisfaction of the City Manager or his duly authorized representative.
