S. H. Mitchell, manager of the company, ap peared before the commission and .us lied that action' be delayed another week on account of Mr. Chalmers in ability to attend. After discussion, the commission de tided to take up the matter in full at it o'clock next Monday morning, a meeting with company representatives being arranged. The commission baa been deliberat ing for Beveral weeks on some action whereby the company can be made to live up to its franchise. Under the franchise the company is required to pave its right-of-way in the streets to conform with the paving of the street by the city. As a result of the com pany not doing this, it was charged that a dangerous condition of traffic resulted along certain streets, a condi tion which the city might be held re sponsible for in case of accident, the city attorney pointed out. fihimTfi -TO Commencing Saturday there will be 18-Minute car service on the Washing ton street car line from 11:30 p. m. to 10 o'clock, and IL J. Morley has just purchased some large motor busses which will meet every car and carry his (atrons to Morley's Country club and bring them back to the terminal free. The street car company will arrange so that there will be ample cars to re turn the people, the last car leaving Asylum road a little after midnight. On .Sunday's holidays and special days the special car service will start at noon and continue until 10 o'clock with the tren busses meeting each car. Any deviation from this schedule will be fjinounced in ample time for the public to be fully informed. The grand opening of the park oc curs Saturday, and as an added special attraction will be the picture show which will be free to the patrons. Ed die Polo in the first episode of the "Lure of the Circus" will be the feature. This is conceded to be one of the sreatest pictures ever made and has been shown to capacity audiences all over the country. It 13 full of thrills, ! art interest and spectacular situa tions. Two of the best known circus downs appear in support of Mr. Polo, :uid beautiful Kileen Sedgewick is His J-adine woman. There is a great com 6y "Straight Crooks" and an enjoy ir Uearst's News. The swim rni:r,' pool is open and popular with the vrwds that flock there every day -o- u Produce IS !'irst shipments of Imperial Valley tomatoes were received on the local m.irket yesterday. Although the first ot the season, the Imperial tomatoes i civod here by local wholesalers were nf exceptionally fine quality. This Ninety of tomato will be received 'fularly incl'hoenix until the end of the season, wtiirh will be in about two months. The end of the Mexico tomato season is now in sight, and the supply in-enea irom that section steadily decreasing. A car of bananas and a car of lemons were among yesterday's receipts. In addition, a large variety of vegetables and fruit was unloaded, included in the .shipments being rhubarb, string beans, artichokes, hothouse cucumbers and green chili. A car of oranges and a car of netted Gem potatoes are expected to arrive some time today.
