Wholesale produce firms of I'hoenix
have determined to close at noon Sat
urdays during the summer months.
They were unable to close Thursday
afternoon, as is customary with Phoe
titx stores, because of out-of-town ship
ments, which must be handled in time
!lor the Friday business.
Another car of extra fine qualky
cantaloupes arrived on the market to
day. Prices are gradually decreasing,
the new stock selling several points
cheaper than those of last week.
Local tomatoes, green chili and bell
peppers are f-.irly plentiful on the
market at this time, quotations being
about the average for this time Of the
year.
Local green corn is of exceptional
fine quahty this season. Prices are
ttill a little high but will be more rea
sonable as the crop is marketed.
A large shipment of rhubarb arrived
yesterday. A car of oranges is sched
uled to at rive this morning.
