E OF STRAND THEATER J L BE REMOVED Wor kof removing the entire ceiling of the Strand theater, where eight per sons were injured last Tuesday when a part of the oeiling fell, was begun yesterday, following an order from the city building department. Building Inspector Herbert J. Mann announced later that the management had agreed to remove the whole ceiling from the entrance to the rear wall and rebuild it according to recommendations from the building deportment. According to Mr. Mann, the new- ceiling will be cf plaster, but its fur ring wil lbe wired up as well as nailed. Mr. Mann said the new ceiling would be absolutely zaJi. Previous to the Jr der yesterday, Mr. Mann and his de partment made a test of the ceiling's strength and safety. -In investigating the accident, Mr. Mann determined that it had been caused by the construction of the plaster ceiling, lha piaster being, much thicker than usu-il and too heavy for the light nails which supported it. Virgil Axtell, the only one ot the eight whose injuries proved to be seri ous, is steadily improving, according to word from !pt. Joseph's hospital, where the boy was taketa following the acci dent, and an operation performed, Barring unforseen complications, Vir gil will recover, it was stated. K : $10 to $25 Per Acr Geological Description of Our Lands There is an east and west "structure" or "formation" running through Ranger that has made it the wonder field of the world. Let us explain for the benefit of the novice that gushers are oil wells located over structures the storehouses provided by nature for the accumulation of oil; the larger the structure, the larger the oil field. One of our geologists, Dr. I. N. Terrill, traced the Ranger Structure 150 miles west, following it on foot. It was heading straight for Reeves county and the Davis Mountains. While examining our lands Dr. Terrill found this big structure where the Pecos River in ages past had cut its way through a blull ' exposing the formations and he followed it for fifty miles to the east, far enough to prove conclusively that it was the RANGER STRUCTURE. THERE IS ANOTHER BIG STRUCTURE LATELY TRACED by several geologists that runs from Santa Rosa,. New Mexico, to Big Valley, in Ward County, Texas, the Texas and Pacific Railway crosses the latter at Quita. Many of its deposits are built from the Permian sandstone taken from the quarries at that point. Oil is found in the Permain. In Loving county, fifty miles north of Quita, this structure shows to be a double mountain formalion,.i. e., two streams or pools of oil running side by side.- These streams are crossed by the Ranger Structure. IN THE CENTER OF, OUR ; LEASED ACREAGE in that county. The crossing is called a "Dome." A Single Structure means a big oil field, a double formation one twice as extensive. If crossed by another at right angles, the rarest forma tion known to geology, the biggest oil field In Texas may be developed.
