Ilig Ip- officers of the Zonatex Oil and Jas company, had his examination yemerday before Judge ilcKee in the West Phoenix prechict justice court. At the close of the hearing- the court announced it would hold Emery to answer to the superior court, but would wait until the county attorney md counsel for the defendant asreed on the matter of bond before doing so. The matter of bond will be set tied Monday morninjr. No witnesses for the defense were called by frank McCann of ilobe and W. L. Hamum of Phoenix, coun eel for Kmcry. 1, M. Laney. county attorney, and Harry Johnson, assis tant, represented the state. K. A. The Eagle Employment and Real Estate office is located at 317 East "Washington street. The second office waa opened at 233 South Center street and will be in-charge of O. A. Cleveland, a partner of Mr. Lewis. Xegro labor is now very' much in demand, according to Mr. Lewis and even those without skill - command a wage or $." a day. Uricklayers are be ing paid $10 for an eight-hour day and hard to find. Several calls for them remained unfilled yesterday. MONDAY FOB YOUNG H'S HEBREW CLUB Although the program of the first smoker and entertainment to be given Monday evening, by the Young Men's Hebrew club at the Woman's club is being kept under cover, it is promised to be a big affair, with plenty doing for everyone who attends this affair. The committee in charge of the af fair is preparing a surprise, it is said, with some of the best talent available engaged for the show. In addition to the entertainment, there is to be a big supper. These affairs of the Toung Men's He brevv club are to be weekly events, it is said, with an entirely different pro gram each week. Pesides these af fairs there is to be a dance on the night of March 3 to be given at the woman's club for which arrangements already are under way. The committee in charge of the smoker on Monday night is composed of Pen West. L. Goldfinger and M. Kiminsky. There are many matters of importance to be considered on Monday night so a large attendance is desired. With a membership already number ing 60, the Young Men's Hebrew club, although organized only four weeks ago. is a flourishing organization which promises to become one of the best in the city. NEW CITY DIRECTORY WILL BE ISSUED SOON Compiling of the new directory for the city of Phoenix, work on which started December 1, is completed, it was announced from the office of the Arizona Directory company, 122 West Washington street, yesterday. The di rectory will go to press in a few days.
