Frank Moran of Pittsburg tonight knocked out Paul Journee, a French heavyweight pu gilist, in the second round of what was to have been a 20-round bout. The fight took place in the Holborn sta dium. PHOENIX-SMI DIEGO MOTORBIKE BROKEN BY ARTLEY Clipping 42 minutes from the pre vious best time, Roy Artley, mounted on an Indian motorcycle, yesterday completed the distance between Phoe nix and San Diego in 12 hours 28 min utes actual running time. The old rec ord was also held by Artley in 13 hours 10 minutes. Artley left Phoenix at 6 o'clock Thursday morning, arriving1 in Yuma at 12:58 o'clock Thursday afternoon, where he stayed over night preparatory to the final dash to San Diego. His actual running time between Phoenix and "Yuma -was about six hours, al though the full 6 hours and 58 minutes must be counted. He covered the distance from Yuma to San Diego in 5 hours and 30 minutes, lie got away from Yuma at 6 o'clock yesterday morning and arrived in San Diego at 11:30 o'clock in the morning. He left Yuma at 6 o'clock Pacific coast time. The record is considered remarkable in view of the poor condition of the roads, especially between Phoenix and Yuma. o ASK TRANSPORT FOR CONTESTANTS NEW YORK.
