Never in th history of athletics in rhia city has a better program been arranged than that which will open the new arena tonight. Two boxing and two wrestling bouts arc included, the first event being scheduled to fttart promptly at 8:15 o'clock. Terrible Brusso and Rufus the Sec ond will be brought together in a fovr rotmd boxing: exhibition as the open ing: event of the evening:. This will be followed by a wrestling match be tween Ilalph Kinsr of Glendale and Kid Carl of Phoenix, limited to 30 minutes. 7c Decide State Title Bobby MeAdoo and Young Dougher ty, the two little sluggers who kept the fans on their toes in their previous meetings, will hook up in a four-round bout for the S3-pound championship of Arizona. These little fellows arc mighty clever exponents of the manly art and the way they step around the squared circle is indeed a spectacle. Both Sauer and Dr. Berg completed their training last night in prepara tion for their finish go. which will be the final and feature event of to night's entertainment. Sauer tipped the beam at 1S2 at the conclusion ot his workout yesterday and will prob ably weigh around 184 when he climbs through the ropes tonight. Tr. Berg :innounccd his weight at 17 last night. Expect Gruelling Match The big fellows are expectant of a gTuelling match, one that will keep the spectators shouting from start to fin ish, f-auer, a youngster, is one of the most spectacular grapplers in the game, strong as a bull and lightning fast. His style on the mat is of the tearing-in sort and fans can expect some real sensations when a grappler of this type meets an old master like Berg, for the latter is the most scien tific man of his weight in the game. Bersr. although an old head a the read-spinning' art, is still ona of the tou.arhest propositions the game boasts. Sport critics declare that he knows more wrestling tricks than any other man and Berg gained this mastery Through years of experience. As Toung Ilackenschmidt. Dr.?erg toured three continents, meet ng all comers, when he held the World's lightweight crown, and never lost a single fall. New Arena Ready Final touches were added to the new arena last evening and the chairs put in place in preparation for a big crowd at the opening program. Women' are especially invited to attend, arrange ments having been made by the man agement to assure a good, clean enter tainment tnroughout. Lieutenant Jake Krhardt of the fire department will referee at all matches. Mr. Krhardt will also represent the American Legion, under the aus pices the program is being given, at the show. Alexander Baker, one of the mem bers of the Frank . Luke, Jr., Legion post, will give a short talk as to the purposes ana aims of the American legion prior to the main match.
