Support of the Presbyterian church in the United States of America was with drawn from the Interchurch World Movement, but it was decided to con tinue the New Era movement and cut the a.nnual buderet from $900,000 to $400,000 at today's session of the gen eral assembly. In its action on the Interchurch World Movement the general assembly adopted the now plan of the executive commission providing- for contribution f $100,000 for the ensuing year to the movement "when properly organized" to be used for the payment of its cur rent operating expenses as a going concern for that period and for no other purpose. When final action was taken, the general assembly was almost unani mous in declaring against any further obligation for the Interchurch Move ment, as now organized and controlled. The executive commission was au thorized to take immediate steps to provide for the payment by the Fres byterian church of the $1,000,000 un derwritten last year. May 27 Campaign headquarters here of Governor Edward I. Edwards of New Jersey, candidate for the Democratic presidential nom ination, announced tonight he will re ceive 69 votes out of SG which will be cast by New England delegates to the convention. Governor Edwards, a headquarters statement said, will have the support of more than half of the 36 delegates from Massachusetts. DOESN'T WANT VICE-PRESIDENCY NEW YORK.
