THE ARIZONA REPUBLICAN- THURSDAY MORNING, JUNE 17, 1920 PAGE TEN FlIEIPMiT MORE 11 ISO IN SEARCH FOR EMIT SLAYER la the search for any possible clew that might lead to the capture of the iayr of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Erhardt, more than 150 arrests have been made, all of whom were finger-printed. Those whose finger prints bore not the slight est resemblance to the finger prints found in the Erhardt home the day following the fatal attacks on the couple were immediately released. whfl6 the other suspects were detained until they were found to have no pos nible connection with the affair. Two negroes, believed to be the ones for whom two posses have been search Ins north of Phoenix for several days, were arrested here yesterday with a stripped Ford car in their possession. They were released after their finger prints were taken and compared. Sheriff Raymond Earhart of Nogales arrived in Phoenix yesterday with the finger prints of a Mexican. Jesus Bar boa, arrested in Patagonia, near No vates. A comparison of finger prints proved the Mexican not to be the man wanted. fornia. New , Mexico. Those who will not g-o back to their homes will remain at the school until they find employ ment elsewhere in the valley, or they may stay at the school al! summer and work on the farm and in the power house. Oir: hundred boys are expected to 1p employed at the school this summer, who will receive $1000 ; furnished by the government as payment for their services. In addition there will b about 150 girls who will remain at the school without pay, but who will be furnished with room and board. This year a great many of the boy pupils have gone to work on farms in the valley, receiving from $50 to $73 a month, including board and room. As this work pays more than city jobs, fewer Indians are working in Phoenix this year, more going instead to the farms, where their services are more valuable. A large number of girls are working in the city as housemaids or nursemaids. Some of the girls have gone to work in private homes at Iron Springs and other summer resorts. On the whole,' the demand for pupils to work in such capacities exceeds the supply. Graduate pupils are also making a success in the valley, one boy in par ticular having just accepted the forc manship of a ranch near here. o More than 1.265.000.000 pounds of virgin wool have accumulated in storehouses of the world since the beginning of the "World War.
