McCann swat his partners, thence to the American legion club to watch Young France pummel his stable of promising youngsters and back to town to figure the dope sheet. The inside boys will clock McCann through a strenuous afternoon and fig ure the kayo punch to bring home the bacon. But a few minutes with the France clan and the speed mixed with cleverness and the boys are up in the air. It can't be done on a workout. The majority of the fans have seen France in action, but the training routine and news reports are the only things to back McCann's ability. The fans are in doubt as to the way France and Mc Cann will fight. One fight and they can figure the odds on any man but until McCann steps a few rounds in the arena its a hard line to dope. They know Billy has the punch, and they can see that he is clever after witching him la the training quarters. He looks good and is confident. Jimmy Curley i so confident of victory that he is already booking engagements in other parts of the state on the strength of Monday's victory. Great stuff, this . fanning game. France is coaching "Wildcat Ells for his bout with Young Scotty Monday night. The "Wildcat is sure wild, not in his defense but. his desire to fight. Ells craves fight and nothing more. If he can get in there and swap punches with some big husky Alfred can crawl out of the ring at the finish and eat a square meal. If he doesn't get action his conscience hurts him and will not even speak to his trainer. Mix Scotty and Ells, with a few ses sions of Spaw and Hocker; throw in a curtain raiser with Dynamite Mc Carthy and Nugent stepping for the winner's end, and top off with a col ored bout a la Ira O'Neil and Babe Cabell there's fight enough for any fan.
