D. 12. Edwards was arraigned Thurs
day before Justice McKee on a charge
of taking irrigation water without au
thority and with the Intent to defraud
and was released on his own recog
nizance to appear for examination at
10 o'clock this morning. David it.
Kennedy complains that Kdwards took
water from certain ditches owned and
operated by the Avondale company.
He was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Al
De Witt.
PLEADS GUILTY Manuel Caste

arraigned betore Justice Charles Do
Sales Wheeler on a charge of grand
larceny ami was held to answer to the
superior court. He was committed to
the countv jail when he failed to fur
nish a bond of $400. He is charged
'with tRking a bicycle belonging to
W. L. llolman. Castenada was ar
rested bv the city police.
SUIT OVER AUTG Declaring that
he was damaged to the extent of $600
when it developed that an automobile
which he hud bought from them was a
stolen car, K. VI. Johnson yesterday
brought suit against George II. Reuben
and A. P.. Smith, doins business as the
Kissel Auto company, asking for a
Judgment. Johnson alleges that he
soil the car to a third party for $600
and was forced to refund the money
when the owner claimed the auto.

Fred Youngston, Birchwood, Wris.,
wants the world to know that, the
other day, when a tornado was raging
in his neck of the woods, the wind
picked up a bill weighing 1300 pounds,
lifted him several rods up and landed
him on his feet quite a distance from
the pasture.
Fish Catches a Man
While Halveron Banks. Ft. Erie,
Can., was fishing, he took a nap
'cause the fish were not biting. lie
woke tip in the lake. Big fish had
dragged him overboard. Nope, didn't
get the fish. Fish didn't get the man,
either.
