The flood of congratulations began
longr before the return of the governor
to the city, howtfver. A flood of tele
grams was received at his office
througout the day yesterday. Po con
fident were hiw frierls of his re-election
that lone before the polls closed
on Tuesday the messages began to ar
rive and since the count a steady
stream of wires have been signed for
by the governor's secretary, P. R.
Milnes, who predicted the result of the
election from the date Governor Camp
bell made his formal announcement.
Among the telegrams received at the
state house was the one addressed the
governor from John G. Townsend, Jr.,
govcrror of Delaware. It read: "Con-g".-u
ula-ns upon your victory. Dela
wi r- j :iv. s you for Harding and Cool
idjje." A r umber of Democrats sent con
gratulations to Governor Campbell,
who rei ived the first news of his elec
tion in I'rescott, where he cast his bal
lot. Mr. Milnes, who also votes in
Pre.icot'.. returned early yesterday
morning with the understanding that

north until the end of the week. He
changed bis plans, however, and when
it become known in Prcsoott that he
