In his lecture Mr. Van Ambergh de
clared that many people now living

The Lecture
"The Bible, though scouted by many,
is rapidly forcing its critics to cover.
The first three chapters of Genesis
record that God formed the earth In
six creative epochs, or days. Other
statements give the length of these
days as 7000 years each, or 42,000
years in all. It still needed one day,
7000 years, to reach perfection. " How
ever, God perfected one apot, the Gar
den of Eden, furnished it with perfect
food, climateand conditions, - that it
might sustain life for His forthcoming
new creation, man. There he placed
the first pair, the man and hi3 mate,
with instructions to fill the entire
earth. The man was perfect, beauti
ful, lord of the earth, in full harmony
with his Creator, but human in every
respect, "of the earth earthy." Before
him stretched the prospect of a per
fected world filled with his own chil
dren, as perfect as Himself, and end
less life with which to enjoy His bless
ings. Genesis 8:22 states positively
that if man could have remained in
touch with the garden conditions he
would have lived forever as a human
being. But his disloyalty cost him his
beautiful home, his dominion, his life.
Today he is dead, and his children are
dying, unable to save themselves.
"Passing over the intervening parts
of the Bible which relate to man's ex
perience with sin and his struggles to
free himself from its death toils, note
the last three chapters of Revelation.
They describe this same earth, then
perfect, with millions and billions of
people, still human beings, though per
fect, in full harmony with God and in
possession of a deed for eternal life.

To prevent any misunderstanding
concerning The Republican's plan to i
preserve the names of the pioneers of
Arizona and to bring them together in
a great reunion early' In 1921, it has
been found advisable to offer the fol
lowing definition:
A pioneer is one who has lived con
tinuously, or nearly continuously, in
Arizona for 85 years, or from January
1, 1886.
In one or two instances men who
had lived in the state for only a few
years have been named as pioneers,
when in fact to list them as such
might invite adverse comment from
those who had been real pioneers in
the real meaning of the word.
The list of pioneers took an upward
bound yesterday that brought the to
tal gratifyingly high. The invitation
of The Republican has been issued
only a few times, but it has penetrated
to every part of the state. Names
and addresses are being sent in from
tne most remote corners, ana wun tne
institution of a new plan to reach the
outlying districts, The Republican
feels that the first comprehensive list
of pioneers ever: attempted in the
state will be practically complete be
fore the first of the year.
Remember that all that is necessary
is to fill out, the blank at the head of
this article and mail it to the Pioneer
editor, Arizona Republican, Phoenix,
Arizona.

"The Kingdom at the Door"
'Somewhere between the events re
corded in the first three chapters of
the Bible and the conditions foretold
in the last three chapters there must
come a time when God will take a
personal hand in the affairs of men
and nations. According to the Scrip
tures, that time Is now. and the pres
ent turmoil throughout the world is
incidental to the chanee. The Rihle
divides this last 'day.' 7000 years, into
three dlyisions or "worlds' 'the world
that was' or 'the old world' (2 Peter
2:5, 3:6), from Adam to the flood. 1656
years; the second, or 'this present evil
world' (John 14:30. Galatians 1:14),
from the flood to the second advent of
Christ, approximately 4400 years; and
me tnird, the 'world to come' (He
brews' 2:5, 8:5), about 1000 years.

1925, with authority to re-establish the
Jewish nation in power and state in
Palestine, as the nucleus of the king
dom of God on earth Matthew 6:10;
Zachariah 14:17-19; Luke 13:28,29.
The Heavena Passing Away
"Note 2 Peter 8:10: The heavens
(ruling powers, the czars, kaisers, kings
and all rules of unrighteousness) shall
pass away with a great noise (has
there not been an exceeding great noise
during the last few years as these
potentates have been hurled from their
ruling positions), and the elements
shall melt with fervent heat (social
elements, symbolically called the
earth'). Who can deny the fervent heat
of the present social fulction. political
