THE ALBl'QUERQUE DAILY CITIZEN SATURDAY MARCH 28 1903 (FREE MEDICAL ADVICE TO WOMEN, tho corner of Eleventh street and Na tional, and purloined two trrxnl revolv ers and two good watch s. The mis p. creants overhauled the jewelry and ErUQ revolver cases and only tuck the best, leaving the poorer wat' li'fl and re volvers. They took a IHt full of car tridges for one of tlie pistols and de- ramped without molesiim; anything else in the store. rssssssssaraBBSs Q i! it WBfc iff -i " ' v y omfidmiml This is a very important consideration in a woman's correspondence with Mrs. Pinkham. It is a great satisfaction to feel that one woman can write to another telling her the most private and confidential details al ut her illness, and know that her letter will be seen by a woman only, a woman full of sympathy lor her bick sisters, and with a knowledge of woman's ills greater than that possessed by any other person. Mrs. Plnkliam never violates the confidence thus entrusted to her, and although she publishes thousands of testimonials from women who have been benefited by her advice and medicine, never In all iter experience has she published such a letter without the full consent, and often by special request of the writer. The reason Mrs. IHnkham is 60 amply qualified to give advice in cases of female ills is for the reason j that over one hundred thousand cases come before her each year, some personally, others by mail, and j this has k-cn going on for twenty years, day after day, and day after day. Twenty years of constant success, think of thy knowledge thus gained. Surely, women aro wise in seeking advice from a woman of such : experience, crucially when it is absolutely free. As nn illustration of the good comingr from such advice we herewith publish two letters and portrait of Miss llattie leGroat, the rending1 of which should give every sick woman confidence iu j Mrs. Pinkbam's ability to help them. This is only one of thousands of the same kind of letters I which Mrs. lMukham has on file. "Dear Mrs. Pinkiiam : I have read with interest your advice to others so much that I thought 1 would write to you, for I have been Buffering for a long time. I have such bearing-down pains, and such shooting pains go through me. I have headache, backache, and feel tired. Menstruation is very painful, sometimes hare to stop work and lie down. My stomach, bloats terribly, ana l am troubled with whites. Hoping to bear Irom you soon, I remain, July 24th, 1000. Miss IIattie DeGroat, Succasuma, N. J." " Dear Mrs. Phtkham : I can hardly find words to thank you for your advice and wonderful Vegetable Compound. I was in a terrible state, every part of my body ached, was very nervous, had hysterical spells. I think I would have become insane had it not been for Lydla E. Pinkbam's Vegetable Compound. Your letter told me just what to do, and your medicine cured me, and I cannot express my thanks." Marcn Bin, jwui. miss uattik deuboat, succasuma, H. J." It grieve d her deeply, too, to realizsthat she could nover tell him that the cause of her refusal was his single misfortune baldness. iNeiAslh)ir'9 Inleir'ipnQndl Kill the germ that cause the dandruff and falling hair, but It must be used before the hair follicle are completely destroyed. "Consider why the change was wrought, You'll find It his misfortune, not his fault" Addison's familiar lines apply particularly to tha unfortunate gentleman portrayed In the drawing, for when he was a boy, Prof. Unna, Europe's greatest dermatologist, had not yet discovered that a microbe is the underlying cause of dandruff, falling hair and baldness. Indifference to baldness on the part of some young men is one of the surprising conditions formerly met with, but there was a good reason for this indifference. The world did not know dandruff to be a very contagious disease; In fact, It was re garded as a perfectly normal condition. The falling hair and itching scalp, that followed dandruff, was re garded as a matter of course. Baldness often ap peared to "run" In certain families, but a single over worked hair-brush usually arranged this misfortune by planting the dandruff microbes in one scalp after another. Prior to Unna's discovery, medical men shot the entire pharmaceutical alphabet at falling hair, but It still continued to fall. Alcohol headeo the list, then came Bay Rum, Borax, Bitter Apple, and Bear's grease. C proved a favorite letter for hair treatment; It brought Capsicum, Castor Oil, and the beautiful green blistering bugs from Spain, called Cantharides. Cantharides was the king pin of all hair preparations during the dark ages of scalp knowledge, but fortunately for the people, its use is now confined to raising blisters on the skin. Speak ing of it, a well known scalp specialist says: "What on earth gave Cantharides its reputation in hair tonics is more than I know. It Is the tradition of a century, and it is all nonsense. It cuts into the scarfskin, causing inflammation, and it is made out of dead bugs, so that it furnishes the elements of de composition upon which scalp microbes thrive. Its use upon the Bcalp should be forbidden by law." Quinine was a popular hair tonic when the discovery of the dandruff microbe completely exploded the "hair tonic" fallacy, and proved the absolute necesr stty of a germicide in hair care and preservation. Newbro's Herplclde is the first and only successful scalp germicide ever offered. It has been tested by hundreds of physicians, who continue to use it in their dally practice. Once kill the scalp microbe with Newbro's Herplclde, and dandruff will disappear, Itching scalp will cease, and falling hair stop, thus permitting Nature, the only true "hair grower," to do its work. In many cases of acute baldness, if the hair follicles are not completely destroyed, a full new crop of hair may be grown. Dr. N. A. Herring, of Benton Harbor, Mich., writes: "I have tested New bro's Herplclde In several extreme cases of dandruff, and the results were very satisfactory." Is not the word of a representative citizen of Albuquerque more convinc ing than the doubtful utterances of people living everywhere else in the union? Read this: Mrs. W. C. Wood. (W. C. Naturally when a person has backache themselves and friends, acquaintances and relatives continual ly insist that a particular remedy shall be tried, you at least consent to take a course of the treatment. I used Doan's Kidney Pills and they stopped an aggravated attack of backache, only one of many which had occurred in The past. When I came west I brought with me a dozen boxes of Doan's Kid ney Pills long before they were so ex tenslvely known in California, as at present. I have not the slightest hesi tation in publicly stating that I know from experience as well as observation that thlB remedy can be absolutely de pended upon In all cases of kidney complaint causing backache, lumbago or other symptoms which follow In the wake of that far too prevalent annoy ance."
