DOOM QF THE DOGS IN CITY OF PORTLAND IGORROTES ARRIVED AT LEWIS AND CLARK EXPOSITION, AND BEGIN THEIR CANINE CAROUS ALS. After many vexatious delays, the band of head hunting, dog eating Igor rotes from the Island of Luzon have arrived at last, and the Lewis and Clark exposition Is now the scene of daily tomtom dances and frequent dog feasts. Poor Fido and his brother Car lo are hiding out, but the lgorrotes will get them sooner or later, for they have less than six weeks in which to devour all of Portland's surplus dogs. The lgorrotes, forty In number, male and female, arrived at Vancouver, B. C, aboard the United States steam ship Athenian, direct from Manila. They were taken to Manila from their homes in the remote hils of the isl and, never before haVing-seen a civil ized city. These lgorrotes are not the one swho were at St. Ixuls last year; they are quite new to America, and their first taste of United States dog was enjoyed in their village at the Portland exposition a couple ot days after their arrival. The village awaited them In what may be called skeleton form, and they set to work and covered the frame works of their 'houses with material which they brought along. An Igor rote would not feel at home in a house entirely made by other hands. The Igorrote village Is located next to Homer Davenport's pheasant farm at the edge' of the Trail, and the weird music of the tomtoms is heard every day and evening. $25.00 SECOND CLASS $25.00 Colonial Rates to California.
