Miss Adelaida Romero and Manuel Meilrano of this city were united In marriage this morning at the Cathe dral by Very Rev. Anthony Fourchegu, vicar general. An Informal reception followed at the bride's home. , The Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Emilio Ortiz was baptized yesterday afternoon at the Cathedral by Very Rev. Anthony Fourchegu, vicar gen eral. The baby was christened Jgna slo Ambroslo Ortiz. Mr. and Mrs. Luis Baca of La Clenega were the sponsors. In the absence of V. L. Bean, owner of the Capital Skating Rink, Victor Duran, has been placed In charge as manager by Mr. Bean and the rink will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings of this week. On Saturday nights the rink is utilized for dancing. Although the money order busi ness of last week was less than one half of that of the preceding week, yet, 219 money orders were paid amounting to $-1,003. 41; 102 money orders were Issued amounting to $095.07; $2,459 of surplus deposits were received and $2,000 for money order drafts, making a total of $9,157.48. Manager A. M. Dettlebach of the opera house, has gone Into 'the show business on his own hook. He has purchased what Is known as the Selig Polyscope, a moving picture machine, and beginning tonight will give two performances every evening, the first at 7:45 o'clock, and the last at 9 o'clock. The admission will be 10 and 20 cents. In addition to the moving pictures illustrated songs will be sung. . The ennon of the Santa Fe River was the scene of many picnic parties yesterday. Over fifty people from this city spent the day In the canon fish ing and resting. Another detachment of girl pupils from the U. S. Indian Training School, also went out and joined the party of girls already in camp about twelve miles east of the city. The day was perfect, and it was delightfully cool and comfortable in the canon. Invitations have been issued to the marriage of Miss Sofia Serna of San Juan anil Pablo R. Delgado of Espa nola, which will be celebrated at the Catholic Church In San Juan on Wed nesday, July 24. A reception will ho held afterwards at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. Delgado formerly lived in Santa Fe and is a son of Fe lipe B. Delgado of this city. He Is employed as a clerk in a general mer cantile, store In Espanola. Last week before 'Referee J. P. Victory testimony was taken In the partition suit of the Polvadera 'Land Grant in Rio Arriba County. The grant is claimed by Mrs. L. B.Peruw, of Buffalo, New York, and was pur chased by her 18 -years ago. Adverse claimants hae filed claims and hence the suit in partition. Mrs. Peruw is represented by R. C. This orchard is hundreds of years old and the trees are still bearing. The excursionists will leave Santa Fe Friday afternoon, remain all night in Estancia and drive to the orchard the following day.
